    Fossil by Fossil

If you were a dinosaur, you’d probably look pretty funny—or even quite scary. That’s because on the outside, humans and dinosaurs look very different. But on the inside, there’s a lot that looks the same. Because of fossils (dinosaur bones that turned to stone over time) we can see all the things our skeletons have in common.

Shoulder bones, finger bones, leg bones, and spines—there are a surprising number of bones we still share. But some dinosaurs had bones that humans don’t, like horns and ridges and plates. Can you guess each dinosaur by its skeletons? Let’s find out!

A scientific look at our favorite prehistoric ancestors, Fossil by Fossil walks readers through the anatomies of humans and dinosaurs. Written by Sara Levine, illustrated by T.S Spookytooth, and published by Millbrook Press.
